What
is Warm Front?
The Warm Front Team, a Government-funded initiative, offers grants designed
to improve insulation and heating in the homes of vulnerable homeowners and
tenants of private landlords. The scheme is designed to improve their quality
of life, help to keep people warmer and more comfortable, and to improve the
energy efficiency of homes.
Warm
Front Grants
Warm Front is a government scheme offering free grants of upto £2,500
to improve the warmth of homes through better heating and insulation. We organise
and pay for the work to be carried out, which in some cases could include
a new central heating system.
Eligibility
Applicant or partner must be the homeowner or tenant of the property. Warm
Front is only for homeowners and tenants of private landlords.
Applicant
or their partner has children under 16 or is at least 26 weeks pregnant and
in receipt of one of the following:
· Income Support
· Council Tax Benefit
· Housing Benefit
· Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
Applicant
or their partner in receipt of one of the following:
· Disability Living Allowance
· Attendance Allowance
· Council Tax Benefit which includes a disability element
· Income Support which includes a disability element
· Housing Benefit which includes a disability element
· Working Tax Credit (which includes a disability element and where
household income is less than £14,200)
· Child Tax Credit (where household income is less than £14,200)
· War Disablement Pension which must include the mobility supplement
· Industrial Injuries Disablement Benefit which must include Constant
Attendance Allowance
Applicant
or their partner is OVER 60 years of age and in receipt of one of the following:
· Council Tax Benefit
· Pension Credit
· Housing Benefit
· Income Based Jobseekers Allowance
Applications for Warm Front can be made in a number of ways:
· By completing an application form and sending it to the freepost

· By telephone on freephone 0800 952 1555. Monday-Friday 8am-6pm.
· Organisations can make bulk applications on behalf of customers by
completing a referral form and faxing 01908 546808 or emailing WFTGrants@Powergen.co.uk
Working

Powergen Warm Front want to ensure that those in greatest need are aware of
and apply for the assistance that is available. We work with organisations
at national and local levels, offering support in a number of ways, for example:

Staff briefings
· Provide leaflets & posters
· Articles for newsletters
· Loan of display material
· Establish how Warm Front eligibility can be integrated into ongoing
systems & procedures
· Discuss specific, tailored initiatives to reach your service users
in the most effective and appropriate way
· Practical support: We pay for printing and folding letters, stuffing
envelopes …
· Bespoke campaigns
