We have just come back from Germany, having spent nearly three weeks there.
it started off from the ferry at Zeebrugge, lunch in Luxembourg then on to Germany for an overnight stop in a little country village close to the Moselle.
Next day we drove to our main holiday abode on Lake Constance in a little place called Kressbronn-Gattnau, about one mile from the lake. Our (privately booked) accommodation was the complete top half of a beautiful house with magnificent gardens. Uli and Hans, the owners were absolutely fantastic people, although a little rusty in English. That was no problem as I speak good German, having lived there for 24 years.
We were based about 15 minutes from the Austrian border, which is a good place for getting into Liechstenstein and Switzerland.
the weather was hot (and got hotter after we left), so, a lovely holiday to remember and well worth the 1,750 mile drive!

What are your plans?

Just got back from a friendly port in a place called Moraira. It is about an hour east of Alicante airport on the Spanish Costa Blanca. :D

Hi Dan,

Hope you had a good time.
My daughter, family and their friends are going somewhere in that region around the middle of August. I don't know the name of the place, they've hired a villa for eight people with pool etc. It's a bit out of the tourist area, she says.

Took another weeks holiday last week. A very spontaneous decision to go to Abergele, North Wales.
The weather and scenery were magnificent. The accommodation, a bungalow booked through Hoseasons, was an absolute dump!

That must be because you didn't tidy up when you checked out!

Ooooooooooh! You little beast!

To be quite honest Jo, the doormat was on the inside so you could
wipe your feet before you went out!!!

Anyone planning to go in any Hoseasons property are advised to Google 'complaints' about them. Their get out is they are "only" the
letting agents and are not responsible for the property.

The problem is, customer satisfaction is a thing of the past. PROFIT RULES - O.K.!

Well, soon be off to California for another two week holiday!
No, not the one in the U.S. of A., it's the one next to Scratby near
Great Yarmouth! Nevertheless, we hope to have a lovely time in a little chalet there.
This accommodation is a private rent and not from the mighty Hoseasons.

A good tip is to check the place out on google. Either on tripadvisor or add the term 'review' when you research the place on the internet.

Thanks for that Jo, but there were no reviews for this chalet because it was let privately, albeit through an agency.
Having said that, the price wasn't high, so I can say we got what we paid for.
Last year, we stayed across the road from this place. the chalet cost twice as much, but was ten times better. I would go so far as to recommend it.
