Through a series of coincidences, it has come to light that somewhere along the line, I have suffered a heart attack! I am now waiting to see a specialist, but in the meantime, my GP has prescribed bloodthinners and statins.

Now there are lots of contradictory reports about these drugs, so if you've been taking these for any considerable time, please share your experiences.

n.b. Please join in the community spirit and take an interactive roll in this forum. If you look down, you'll see some little squares with letters, numbers and pretty little pictures on them. Try pressing one or two and see what happens. Thank you.

Thanks, admin. I'll sift my way through the info, although my post was actually to try and mobilize the 'silent gawpers' of this forum. I bet most of 'em never even bought their own Beano!!!

Update

Just collected my repeat prescription and with it, a letter from my GP stating that 'recent advice' suggests that when Simvastatin is taken with Amlodipine the dose is now 20mg instead of 40mg.

Having Googled this, I find the 'recent advice' is from August last year, so anyone on this combination of drugs, please check your dosages and/ or consult your doctor.
