Popularity of the iPad and its rivals has mushroomed, with 54% of UK households owning one, according to an Ofcom report. An interesting trend has been the rise of tablets among those aged over 55, a generation not traditionally considered to be particularly keen on new technology, from 1% ownership in 2011 to 37% in 2015.
