I’m thinking of going on my first cruise at long last. Can anyone give me some recommendations as to their successful experience?

You can do taster cruises over a long weekend. They are around the £200 mark. I did one to Belgium on the Oriano. I would look into this first before taking the big plunge to make sure that it is for you. Try general google searches and you should find many competing for this type of thing. Hope this helps.

Thanks for that advice Danny. That seems a sensible and good idea. Will be looking into it. Thanks again. ;0)

Last year we went on a P&O Mini Cruise with some friends, it was the first cruise my wife and I have been on. As you say it's worth testing the waters (so to speak!) on a mini break before embarking on a major voyage! Our mini cruise was good value, the cabins are small though and I think next time I would consider an upgrade. One with a sea view would have been nice. The food was quite expensive also I think next time I would opt for an all inclusive package.

Sounds good. Has anyone done the Mediterranean. I have heard it is great value for money when you consider the amount of countries you can fit in over a short period of time?
